General Question about Bookmarks

Hi. If I make a product unavailable, out of stock, can former customers still see the page if they have it bookmarked? And if so, can they possibly make a purchase of that out of stock item?

Thanks. I actually don't have a live cart right now, a customer is asking the question before I install. I think the answer is no, as I've installed a few, but I want to be sure.

Depending upon the settings in
admin > config > stock

It can be made unavailable
