admin settings revert to blank

When I look in "admin/configurations/maximum values" there are several blank fields like "products listing - number per page" or "maximum categories products display list". I can edit them and enter a number. The number will show up after selecting update. But later the number will disappear and the field is blank again. Of course, when looking at the debug log i see "division by zero" which I understand reflect the blank fields.

I had this problem once before but it has been a couple of years. I fixed it by entering the values I wanted in the database via phpmyadmin. But I have forgotten where this info is located in phpmyadmin. I have searched and searched and cannot find the correct location for "products listing - number per page" in my database?

Using my phpmyadmin, I did a search in the configuration table for a configuration_title LIKE %products listing%. That search returned two items; the one you're looking for is MAX_DISPLAY_PRODUCTS_LISTING.
