I try to set up the option that the costumers receive html emails for the order confirmation.
I follow all the steps but always the emails comes with plain text format, i use the 1.51 version.
Please advise.

Did you select HTML when you created your test customer ? Is the email program used for that account set up to receive HTML messages ?
Please tell us what steps you are following.
Secondly, are you seeing TEXT emails under a test-customer that you set up, or are OTHER customers reporting this to you.
The way people will receive emails depends on what they selected when they signed up, so if your test-customer selected TEXT and not HTML then that is how emails will be sent.
Additionally, you cannot control the settings on people's computers. If I choose to receive text messages on my MS Outlook, than that is what will happen - irrespective of anything you set on your side.

i register several demo clients, i receive plain text for all of them.
I set up for default, all costumers are sign up with html email format.
In the email option
E-Mail Transport Method smtpauth
Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails true
Send E-Mails true
Email Admin Format? HTML
in the costumer details
Customer Default Email Preference 1
Show Newsletter Checkbox 2
I have thesame settings in another eshop (version 1.39) and i can receive htm confirmation emails
please advise
