Default Changes in Test Site affect the Live Site

    Hello,

I'm doing some changes to my site but first I'm working in a test site on my server. In general all the changes have been fine until I found this glitch that I don't know how to solve.

The thing is that the changes that I'm doing in the home page in the test site are affecting the live site. I made the changes in the Admin area define_main_page.

Can anyone help me with this? I don't have any idea where the problem comes from.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello Kobra,

Yes, it's on the same server, and has its own database.

As you do not tell us WHAT is changing, we can only surmise what the issue is.

    SOME stuff is database-related
    OTHER stuff is file-related.

Now... the ONLY WAY your changes on the TEST site can come through to the LIVE SITE, is if they SHARE:
    -FILES
    -DATABASE
    (or a combination of both).

SOMEWHERE in your setup, something is being shared... my guess it's the database. And as the configure.php files are the principal controller here, my suggestion is to see if the SAME database is being specified in your configure.php files ...

    Thank you SchoolBoy,

I forgot to put the folder after the public_html in the two configure files

    define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/XXX/public_html/XXX/

    Many, many thanks
