There is a huge number of JS/CSS image manipulators out there. It is generally not that difficult to embed them into zencart.
Look in the ADD-ONS for image managers.
And given that Magic Toolbox's prices are so low, my advice would be to just go ahead and buy one of their systems... Trying to do it all yourself will probably cost much more in time and effort.20 years a Zencart User
