Product Description : 4 first letters appear on the products listings page?

On the products listings page, 3 dots appear below the product titles.

When I enter a product description, the first 4 letters of that description appear before these 3 dots.

See the last product at the bottom of the page here:

It shows "Descr..." instead of just "..."

To fix the issue I've just been adding a <p>&nbsp;</p> before the description.

Now, I'm just trying and validate the html on my site and this &nbsp; generates this kind of errors.

Do you know how can I fix this issue?

PS: I have the Column layout Grid for Product Listing and the Single Listing Template modules installed.

No guarantees, but try this:

Navigate your way to:
configuration->Product Listing

Set "Display Product Description" to "0".

Lets us know how it goes.

This is a basic built it feature, which I have completely overlooked. And I've been looking for a solution for 2 years!

This is a basic built it feature, which I have completely overlooked.

You probably aren't alone. The thing is, ZenCart has a lot of inbuilt settings and settings (such as this one). Some of them are 'obvious' what they do, others not so obvious. It seems (to me) that very few people actually 'play' with these settings (possibly for fear of breaking something), so many people will learn to live with things that they don't need too......

And I've been looking for a solution for 2 years!

Where *I* tend to come unstuck is in knowing that ZenCart has a setting/option for some of these 'tweaks', but I have a hard remembering exactly where to find the settings I want. It's the price we pay for a highly configurable piece of software though.

My pleasure. Its always good to know when a suggestion/idea has the desired effect. Especially in a case like this where I wasn't really sure if it was going to be the solution to the problem or not.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to hear that others have been looking for this 'solution' for as long as you have (but have neglected to ask if it were possible), so you actually did good by posting the question.
