Default Attributes deduct stock count from a global value

    Hi all,

I run a T-shirt print company and have a fairly specific request.

I have base stock of black, red, navy, white, etc etc shirts and obviously several different sizes for each colour too.

When a customer orders a medium white shirt (for example) I take one from that pile, print on it and send it out. At the moment I'm running "Products with Attirbutes Stock" and it updates the quantity left in stock for that design on that colour and for that size, but all the other designs which use that base colour and size obviously stay unchanged.

Is there a way using this plug-in or any other to have the stock deducted from a global number so that all designs which use small white shirts (again, for example) are updated accordingly?

    Thanks for any help offered,

    Tony

Why do you have stock by design then??

If you have stock by color & size only - then you print the selected design this should take care of your issue

    Cheers for the reply, Kobra.

When I started the business I was getting the shirts pre-printed which was simple for stock management but terrible for business!!! If one design didn't sell, I was left with dead money just sitting there. I decided to get into screen printing, bought all the kit, youtube'd my skill level to "passable" and have been printing profitably ever since. It's been a wild ride!

So now my cart has two types of stock. The old "stock by design" and the new "stock by shirt colour/size".

I'm guessing I'm missing something quite rudimentary here. How do I go about changing to stock by colour and size? Should I add a "White" product then give the user a drop down for which design they want? This would mess up my cart layout no end!!!
