Zen-Venom Get Bitten
Zen Cart does not have a built-in blogging platform, so you should keep your wordpress setup. A forum member (philip937 if I recall) has just announced a new basic blogging addon for Zen Cart, but I think it is still in beta, and would not give all the functions of wordpress in any case.
There is a mod in Plugins called Sidebox Anywhere which may be useful to you.

I'll look into it. All I'm looking to do is show an image of a cart if something is in it. I hope I'm not opening up a world of hurt to try and accomplish this.
In order to show cart contents (no matter how you display them -- images/text/whatever) requires sessions.. So my original comment stands..
But to chime in with what others have said I've not found ONE SITE yet that could not be converted to Zen Cart.
As an example of this, I had a client who had a site that used static pages PLUS Zen Cart and he insisted that the static pages could not be converted because of the look/feel of the static pages. He did not feel that they could be converted to Zen Cart and retain the EXACT same look..
I did a proof of concept for him and easily converted all of his static pages to Zen Cart.. I did this while maintaining the VERY specific layout he used. He like you objected to the attempt, but couldn't deny the result when it was done.. After I did the proof of concept, he GLADLY let go of the static pages.. I sweetened the pot for him by fully matching his blog's look and feel to match his site (something he'd never been able to do, nor did he think was possible). This particular site WAS featured in the Zen Cart showcase. Sadly the company's principals (it was a record company) had a dissolution of their partnership and the site is no longer available to view. Someday when I have time, I may put it up on my host under a sub-domain to showcase it again.
My point is, you REALLY should give some thought to doing the whole thing in Zen Cart..
