automated orders intermittently being generated

I am running v. 1.5.0 and have had this issue but it seems to be getting worse. When customers place orders not all the orders are being generated and do not show up on in admin or get emailed to me. These are all Paypal orders so I do get the Paypal emails when the payment is completed.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Paypal Express ? If not, you should be, and this issue should go away.

No I am not..using Paypal Standard IPN. Will try Express. Thanks for the quick reply.
