Default Changed site root folder and now have bad htaccess problem(s)

Hi, I changed my website from the public_html/store folder to the public_html/ folder by following the instructions at...

    http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...that-directory

my website still works as far as I can tell but now I can't go to specific file or folders for my site, such as www.mysite.com/images and I get message like "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /cache on this server. I get the error message access denied. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Hostgator told me that I have a bad .htaccess and didn't elaborate. Possible it's not in their jurisdiction.

I looked at the code for the htaccess files and I don't know what I'm lookin at. Also I searched around for info about this but little learned. Someone help please!

The only .htaccess file affected by such a move would be the one you added to the root of your site. All the ones that came with Zen Cart won't have any effect on the symptoms you describe (unless you've changed their contents).

Zen Cart doesn't come with any .htaccess file in the root.

In theory, if you have such a file, renaming or deleting it would remove any impact that it is causing on your site.

Still have the same problems. When I try to go to mysite.com/images I get a forbidden and a 404. When I try to go to mysite.com/includes I get a blank screen. Could it be something to do with my cache being set to 'none'. It's supposed to be set to 'database' by default right? I didn't knowingly change this.

This is normal and is what you should get

The 'cache' setting has nothing to do with .htaccess files in any way.

Thanks peoples. I guess there was no real problem to begin with because I discovered that I could actually open my stylesheet.css file in the browser which I assumed I couldn't because it is within the includes folder which wouldn't open, which might or might not have made sense. Gilby I'm certain that I could actually access those folders before I moved my files, but I guess it's probably safer than it was anyways. I remember viewing a list of image files in there. Hostgator did a permissions reset to default which might have caused my whole quandry. The site works fine. Thanks again.
