FREE SHIPPING! Module with no shipping zone

Hello,

I just want to double check that my shipping settings are correct.
I want to offer free shipping to all US States. Here are my settings:

-I only have free shipping! module installed.
-the shipping zone for that module is set to none.
here are the settings:
Enable Free Shipping
True

Free Shipping Cost
0.00

Handling Fee
0

Tax Class
--none--

Shipping Zone
--none--

Sort Order
0

-finally, all my products are set up to "Yes, Always Free Shipping" radio button for Always Free Shipping setting.

This should allow all customers that purchase from the US to have free shipping correct?

That will give the US Free shipping ... however, now there is no shipping available to anyone outside the US as Always Free Shipping is for everyone and the Zone makes it US Only ... if this is what you are after that will be fine as no one except the US can checkout ...

I had to disable my fedexwebservices module today because FedEx was having issues. I tried to enable the freeshipper module exactly as ebaobao described above. The only shipping zones are -none- and Florida so I left it at none. When I test it, it says "sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time"

I looked through the threads but didn't see where I had to set up any regions or zones. Any assistance would be appreciated. I'm on V1.3.9h

Oops. I just reread ebaobao's entry and realized my products do not have "yes, always free shipping" set but instead are set to "no, normal shipping rules" Is this my problem?

That was the reason ... but if you wanted Free Shipping temporarily, you could have used Free Shipping Options freeoptions and just set the Total >= 0 ...

If you only wanted that for some shipping addresses, then you could have made a Zone Definition of your own to add to that ...

I would only want free shipping temporarily for the FedEx issue I had (which was just resolved...) and we occasionally offer free shipping as a special so having this capability would be very good. I've never used this module before so I'll read through it and attempt to set it up and test.
