Change "Manufacturer" to "Artis" throughout the entire site

Hi,

I'm building a zen cart web site for Art Posters

I need help how to do the following:

I want to add new Product Type for Art Posters.
OR-OR-OR modify the Product General to change the word "Manufacturer" to "Artist"

Basically the General Product layout works for me just the word "Manufacturer" needs to be changed to "Artis"

I want to do the most simple way I can.

Admin - Tools - Developers Tool Kit. Search for manufacturers. I suspect you'll find it's in english.php.

Also search for manufacturer... and you can limit your search to language define files.

I changed my includes/languages/english.php file code to

// manufacturers box text in sideboxes/manufacturers.php
define('BOX_HEADING_MANUFACTURERS', 'Authors');

but the listing on the zencart pages is still showing up as Manufacturers. Do I need to look in another place?




Never mind...I finally found the other english.php file, inside my /pinkywinky/ folder. That did the trick.

There's actually quite a few more places Which contain the manufacturer labels.. Use the developer tools and search the "Look-up in all files" section and limit the search to the "Catalog" to find them all.

I finally found the other english.php file, inside my /pinkywinky/ folder.

You should never change a base version of a language or template file, as these will all be reset to default (erasing your customization) when you do an upgrade to a newer Zen Cart version. Instead, you need to save any edited file to an appropriate custom template folder (/pinkywinky/ in your case). Also, if there is already a copy of a file in your custom template folder, the stock version will be ignored and any edits you make to it will be useless.

Yep and Glenn is right when you find these you need to be creating overrides for each of these language files..
