Images deleted when entire category deleted

Greetings All,

I am having a strange occurrence while testing the import of data. Using Admin>Categories, I am deleting entire categories of products to test an Easy Populate import. After I have deleted all of the categories that I will be replacing, the primary pictures for the products are deleted (this is before I import any data) and they are gone from my image directories. The 2nd, 3rd, etc images are still in the directories, but the primary images (as specified in my product records) have been deleted.

Is this normal?

Note: The paths of the images is slightly diff than norm. The paths are :

images/aaa/product-model-code/product-model-code.jpg

I am answering my own question. Yes, this is normal if the product does not share the image elsewhere.
