CURRENCIES_TRANSLATIONS Text Emails - Pound Sign

Hi,

Can anyone help me with how to get a pound sign to display in plain text emails please?

From what I can see, the behaviour of currency signs is controlled by the CURRENCIES_TRANSLATIONS value in the configuration table.

I've tried different combinations - £,£----£,£----£,£----etc
but I only end up with '&pound' in my emails.

The web site has no problems, it's only in text emails. All DB tables are set to set to UTF-8. The source value is coming from the table orders_total (in which it appears to be held as £).

What do I need to enter to get a £ sign in my text emails? Thanks.

You should be able to set that as:

£,£:€,€:®,®:™,™

What are your settings on the Currency itself in the Admin?

Symbol Right:

Decimal Point: .
Thousands Point: ,
Decimal Places: 2

Change Symbol Left to be:

£

Ah, it was already set to "£" when I went to edit. I had been looking at the 'summary' screen, in which it was displayed as '£'. So the change you suggest was already in place.

I cannot reproduce the Problem in v1.5.1 ...

Is this a clean install or an upgrade?

What happens if you switch the site to Classic Template and try an order?

I switched the default currency on my stock 1.5.1 test site to pounds and I'm seeing the same issue in text emails as the OP.

Just did a complete fresh installation (except 2 x configuration.php files).

Performed purchase using Paypal Sandbox.

Confirmation email:

1 x xxxxx = £17.00

Sub-Total: £17.00
Zone Rates (Shipping to GB): £0.00
Total: £17.00

I will have to do a fresh install of v151 as ever install that I have works fine ...

So, either I have some fix in ever install that I cannot discover or something moofy is going on that I have not identified yet ...

I my not get to this until later tonight but I will keep hunting ...

I have now installed Zen Cart v1.5.1 clean on 2 different servers and still cannot reproduce this error ...

The only thing related to this that I change in the database is:

UPDATE configuration set configuration_value = '£,£:€,€:®,®:™,™' where configuration_key = 'CURRENCIES_TRANSLATIONS';
