Taxes are getting 3 trippled?? not sure why 5% GST + 5% GST + 5% GST should be only 1

Just to let you know we did test this out before we launced our client site a while back..

But now he asked me why his clients are getting charge more than 1 tax 3 times..

example..

Item 999.99
sub-Total: $999.99
Flat Rate (Best Way): $20.00
5% GST + 5% GST + 5% GST: $54.55
Total: $1,124.54

Why is our GST getting put on 3 times.. should only have 1 GST not 3 of them

Another example

$899.99
Sub-Total: $899.99
Flat Rate (Best Way): $20.00
5% GST + 8% PST + 5% GST + 8% PST + 5% GST: $126.58
Total: $1,091.57

This time the 5% GST + 8% PST + 5% GST

I have set up my zones and taxes but can't figure why this is doing what its doing? any ideas where to look

Hopefully it's not a rogue addon or some code change... I've had this issue before with many complicated taxing scenarios... and you mentioned zones... headache.

Basically you can make a number of zones, tax rates classes and apply those to products, then zen will do the same for customer shipping and billing address. Then it might look at the settings for the shipping choice selected and you've developed a matrix of taxing options.

Everything has to match. From the settings in the payment and shipping modules to the zones definitions and their respective tax rates/classes and, the products need to have the tax rate determined.

I need to see this to fix it in a jiffy - 'assuming' it's got nothing to do with a new plugin...?
