Selling food items from Australia to New Zealand

Hi all,

Just looking for some help and advice from you all.

We are a Australian food retailer currently shipping to Australian addresses only. We want to open our website up to New Zealand residents. We have a mixture of GST free and GSTable products for sale, as we are exporting the products are all our sales GST free?

All of the exported goods are NOT subject to GST
That means you don't have to pay 1/11 of the Retail Price to the Australian Tax Office as GST

You can either reduce the Retail price by the GST amount to NZ buyers (as they may have to pay an import duty)
or
You can sell at the same Retail price in Oz and NZ and work out the GST liability (on OZ sales only) when you pay your GST
