    Default Customers orders not showing in admin

    A couple of minutes ago a customer place an order but I only received an email notification from paypal. The order does not appear in admin. I did not get an email notification either. Does anyone know what could be wrong? My zencart version is v1.3.9h. Thank you.

    Strange, I just received another order and this one went through fine. Got both emails (admin and paypal) and this order is showing in admin. Hmmm....I think I know what went wrong. The item that the customer order had gone out of stock while she was placing order...maybe this caused some type of confusion within the system?

    Switch to Paypal Express, and that problem won't occur.

    Hi Stevesh, it hasn't happened again but will I have to install the paypal express in payment modules and remove payment standard -ipn? Just want to make sure I am doing it correctly. Thank you!

    Hello, I've been having the same problem. Most of our orders come through fine, but there is the exception. Occasionally, orders are coming through and we only get the PayPay advice via email. The customer doesn't get an email order confirmation nor do we get the copy. This happens on our shop that is on v1.5.1 as well as other shops that are on v1.3.9. Why does this happen? In one of our shops, it's happened to the same customer three times! I know this thread says to change to PayPal express, but I'd like to understand why this error happens if possible and fix it with PayPal IPN if possible. Overall, PayPal IPN hasn't cause any other problems.

    The process that Paypal IPN uses to communicate with your store is old and was designed for flat HTML sites using Paypal buttons. It can't be fixed, and there's no reason to do so anyway. Express presents the same options to your customers and works every time.
