Coupon CATEGORY restrictions not working in 1.5.1 ?

We recently upgraded our store to 1.5.1 and today we noticed that coupon restrictions using the category deny method are not being honored. That means some of our products that shouldn't be getting a discount are.

For a quick fix, I jumped down to the product restriction area and restricted items by product which seems to work. I never noticed this problem before. Is there a patch? Is there something I'm overlooking? Any thoughts?

What are the settings on the Discount Coupon that you are trying to use?

What version did you upgrade from?

• We were version 1.3.9h, it's now 1.5.1.
• If it helps to know, some products are linked. I saw light conversation on the forum where that may or may not matter.
•##I also saw light conversation about maybe needing to do something about "top" settings in order to get it to behave right. Not sure if that's necessary, but I haven't done anything with it.

Keep in mind, when using Category Restrictions, the master_categories_id is being used so make sure your Linked Products have the right Category set for the master_categories_id ... otherwise, use the specific Products on the restrictions ...

Thanks, Ajeh. It's easy enough to add the restrictions by products (especially since you can quickly add groups of them). It just struck me as odd and I don't recall that type of behavior from the coupon restriction in my previous version of Zen Cart. I'll keep an eye on my category id's with linked products, too. Maybe that's part of my problem. I just wanted to extend my thanks.
