Default Paypal Issue with Argentina and Downloadable Products - URGENT store opening tomorrow

    Good day,

I'm having an issue with paypal payments. You can find my website here:

We sell all digital products that will be immediately downloadable. There is no need for shipping settings.

I got one of my staff to test the PayPal set and she she gave me the following comments:

"Katie, there's a problem in my case with the shipping address. I live in Argentina and when I'm sent to PayPal, PayPal has replaced the country with "US" so it doesn't recognize the address. Anyway, can you just make Paypal disregard shipping adresses since these are digital products?"

"Paypal makes me go back to correct the address on Scrap Nerds, which is set correctly. Then I go back to Paypal and it's wrong again. It looks like it's set in U.S. as default"

"this is the message from Paypal: This merchant requires us to use the shipping address you entered on the merchant site, and there’s a problem with that address. Please go back to the site to change the address."

How do I turn off the shipping settings and set up paypal correctly so any country can purchase from my store?

My store is opening tomorrow so it's urgent.

    Thanks,
    Katie

Because of the urgency, suggest posting as much as you can about the settings of the product(s) related to shipping address information and one of the settings adjacent that I don't remember, as well as all of your paypal settings except for anything related to your "user I'd" or password like settings. We can't see what you can and can't guess.

If all the products in the customer's cart are correctly configured as downloads, then Zen Cart will set [NOSHIPPING] => 1 and therefore not pass any shipping information to PayPal. And therefore it's up to PayPal to decide what they wish to use as a default address to display to the customer.
PayPal will show the "Pay by credit card" option landing page by default, since that prevents people from thinking that they must have a paypal account in order to complete their purchase.
But if ALL your customers will ALWAYS have a PayPal account, or you don't care if they'll be confused by seeing "Please log in to your PayPal account" as the first thing they see when they arrive at PayPal, you can change the code in Zen Cart to force that to happen. But we find that most merchants complain when that "log in to PayPal" is the first thing their customers see.

I just set up a brand new store with demo products and added PayPal Express settings to it. Then created a customer account using an Argentina address. Then added one of the "V1.2=>Downloads" products to my cart, and proceeded through checkout. While it did indeed take me to the "Please enter your address so you can pay by credit card" screen and did show "United States" as the first option in the empty set of address fields, I checked the system logs it generated and it does indeed pass "[NOSHIPPING] => 1" to PayPal, and therefore the fact that PayPal is showing "United States" as the default country option is entirely something being decided by PayPal, and not by Zen Cart.
