You can turn it off in the admin, by setting the following to zero

admin>configuration>stock>Show Sold Out Image in place of Add to Cart

Its not that no one wants to help, its that you have given so little information. But I assume you have done photoshop to that sold out button on the 1st product to move it up. If so, then I understand what you want. You have 2 methods to approach this. The css method is to declare the element to remove the linebreaks which will close the gap.

OR if you wanted to fix it completely, then you will have to go in the module/product_listing.php file which CLG has put in line breaks after each element. The reason for the big space is that OTHER elements have the line breaks even though it is not used or active. So the elements are not active but the line breaks are. So just remove the line breaks in that file and the gap will close.
