Default Ceon URI Mapping - Moved to New Host Server

Running Zen Cart 1.3.9h. Ceon URI Mapping Module, Version 4.0.2. We moved the website to a new server.

Site would not come up, until we removed the .htaccess file in the web root, which contains only the code from the Ceon URI Mapping module. The module worked fine on previous host server.

If we disable the URI Mapping module in the Admin, then we can access all pages and product pages, except the banners, which use the former URI mapped files name.

Of course, without that .htaccess file, we cannot use the URI module to access any of the files by the generated URIs.

Is there a procedure for moving a Zen Cart running the URI Mapping module to a new host server? Can you please give us an idea of what we can check or test to get our store working with the URI Mapping module on our new host server?

    Best Regards,
    Shannon

Default Re: Ceon URI Mapping - Moved to New Host Server

Update: We are testing on the new host server prior to pointing the domain's nameserver to the new host.

We see, in the Ceon URI Mapping Installation Check, that the HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER, and other paths cannot contain a subdirectory.

In order to test without the domain, our server paths are like this: https://new.servername.com/~account

I'm thinking this explains why the module won't work, and that once we point the domain name to the new host, all will be well.

    Any comments are welcome.

    Regards,
    Shannon

Update 2: Even once we point the domain, the problem is that this site uses shared SSL with an https URL like this: https://new.servername.com/~account

Is there a way to get the URI Mapping module to work with this?

Doesn't look like you've received any feedback. Regarding the use of subdirectories, so I use Ceon Uri rewriter on a server that has the store in a subdirectory (almost like what you have) we also have a shared ssl certificate although the uri doesn't require a subdirectory when using the shared certificate. All that said, if you considered your store as being in a subdirectory for all uses, then you could continue to use the rewriter, but you would also need to get all of the uris in the ceon_uri_mappings table to recognize the new subdirectory created by using the shared certificate/store subdirectory. Alternatively if you got your own ssl certificate, you should be able to keep everything in your root folder without issue.

Essentially though under the first option, if you followed the ZC process for your configure.php file setup, you put your uri as new.servername.com and your directory in the following define(s) as /~account/ and away . Again, though you would need to remap your uris so that they would have the prefix of ~account/.

Thank you for the feedback mc12345678.

We ended up getting the private SSL, but will try the subdirectory if it comes up again.

Welcome. Ideally, your store (money maker) will remain in the root directory and as part of that, hopefully won't have to revert to having to reference the "username" as a subdirectory. Each host does things differently.

If your previous site's location was as yours basically is now (installed in the root of the uri, then CEON mapping should need no adjustments. (Meaning only the uri paths, there may still be other action necessary such as ensuring the .htaccess file has the approriate rewrite(s))
