How can I change what shows on Category Pages?

Now...what would I like to do?

1. Get rid of the line below the Displaying 1 to 3 of 3 at the top center. I keep deleting these pieces of crap code that show on pages, but I have no clue where this particular file is to remove it.
2. Get rid of the Manufacturer choice in the bar to sort. I will never be using that portion, so there's no reason for it to be there. And, if I do cull that off, will the right sideboxes show correctly, as they do on other pages? I really hate that they are shunted off the field on the category page like this.
3. Change what information shows under each title. I would prefer to drop it trying to show information from the description box, in particular. The rest is fine.

Looks like you've broke your code somewhere and an error is appearing. Use the developer toolkit in Admin to search for the text that appears. That way you'll be able to find the source file of the error. Once the error has gone the category boxes should revert back to normal layout.

Most items can be switched on or off within the Admin > Configuration menus.

A link to the site itself would help, but most of the time when sideboxes are shifted like that, it's because of the content you've added to the page, often when copy is pasted from a WYSIWYG editor.

I've managed to turn off the manufacturer part with the Config menu. I found one place that it mentions it earlier, but I had missed a second place it did. Head desk. Gets me every time, I swear.

Still working on finding that bit of crap code that needs deleted. Thanks for your help. Hopefully, I'll be able to sort this out this afternoon.

As you can see, I didn't paste anything into this page that should affect it that way, but I'm getting all sorts of oddity showing up. For instance, if you look at the price on the first book, what it did with the second two books doesn't match that. It's populating this itself, from the database, so why isn't it consistent? Darned if I know. All the boxes show up fine on the product pages and on the main store page, but on the category page, it shifts the right line off the edge, for some reason. Ironically, those are the pages I haven't tinkered with at all.

Some sort of issue with the Book X plugin, I'd guess, since the string NOTIFY_TEMPLATE_PRODUCT_LISTING doesn't return any results in the DTK in my stock Zencart installation. I'd go back to the support thread for that mod, after searching just the files that came with the mod for parts of that string.
