Is there a simple customer referals mod?

Ive searched about a bit an cant seem to find anything meeting my needs.

I am after allowing customers to enter a freinds email address during checkout to identify them as someone that has referred them to the site. The obvious simple solution wil be to advise to put this in order comments but just wondering if there are any simple mods that I could use to seperate order comments from the referral?

Something like:

if you were referred by another one of our customers enter their email address below:
[ text field ]

what it does with this im am not too fussed about, it could either add it to the order confirmation email, add it to the database somewhere and send an email, really not fussed as long as I am able to see when someone has been referred and what their email address was.

I haven't used it, and, as a customer, I'm annoyed when such questions are required fields, as I think this mod's is.

cheers I saw this one. not what I need as this asks during registration, I want to ask during placing an order and therefore the referal is only as far as I am concered a "conversion" if it resulted in a sale.

I agree though what ever I need definatly needs to be option (like the customer comments)

I wonder if there is a simple way i could split the comments box into two so the information gets merged but the boxes to enter the text are seperate? hmmm
