Default Your database appears to need patching to a higher level.

Upgraded from 1.5.1 to 1.5.3. My latest PHP version supported by Cpanel is only 5.5. I know the requirements says 5.6, but will it still be OK with 5.5? If so how can I remove the error from the top of my web site index page.
    Everything seems to be working.

You need to also upgrade your database to 1.5.3.

    Thanks,

The requirements provided indicate the range of PHP versions that are supported. The latest stable version is likely to provide better security.

With regards to the message received about needing to patch to a higher level, this is in regards to the version associated with the database as it compares to the code. (Not the PHP or mySQL version). Please see the instructions to perform this step. They are provided in the documentation of the ZC 1.5.3 (hotfix 1) package downloaded from this site, or by searching through the FAQ for example on the word upgrade.

Thanks, I am trying to contact my hosting company.
    Here is what I have:
    MySQL version 5.6.17
    PHP version 5.5.17
    Apache version 2.4.10
Version information: 4.1.8, latest stable version: 4.2.9
I show this in my phpMyAdmin:
A newer version of phpMyAdmin is available and you should consider upgrading. The newest version is 4.2.9, released on 2014-09-20.
    Hopefully this fixes it.

Again, valiant effort, but unfortunately you will still have the message about needing to update the database nomatter how much updating of those items occurs. It is a response from ZC related to the content of the database not the platform on which it is served.

Take a look at section B of the instructions in this link: http://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?...pgrade-my-site

Is there possibly an action in the list that hasn't been performed or at least not in the condition that the store currently is? (Sorry, making some work out of this rather than straight up answering... It really is an easy step to perform and is a part of every upgrade or transfer of a store and effectively a part of creating a new store, but there is a little less to do to the database of a newly installed store to just see how it operates.)

Thanks, where can I download 1.5.1 again? That is if me or my hosting can't fix it right away

Run zc_install on your site with the admin folder renamed as admin and perform a database upgrade only. That will upgrade your database from 1.5.1 to 1.5.3. Be sure that you are at least using the hotfix 1 version of 1.5.3 available from http://www.zen-cart.com/getit.
