I should have placed more emphasis on the word *appears*.

I wasn't being pedantic at all. I was providing *good* and *accurate* advice in regards to php files permissions.

As for off topic. I find that highly questionable. I gave the same correct advice in my 1st post, and you took it upon yourself to contradict this advice with the *foolish* suggestion of "permissions should be changed to 777".

I can only assume that it *appears* pedantic to you because you are one of those that don't understand the risks of 777 file permissions (and seem to be quite happy about that).

I may not be able to convince you the error of your ways, but that doesn't mean I can't and shouldn't try to help prevent others from making the same mistake.
