I recently purchased a foreign domain name to manually set up a clone of my website. This is all done on shared hosting, with a subdomain created through CPanel and assigned to a folder in my public_html.
Basically here is my situation:
1. http://www.olddomain.com works fine. It was installed with Softaculous through CPanel on a shared host.
2. http://www.newdomain.com is a manual install. The files were uploaded through FTP.
3. http://www.newdomain.com sends the request to Godaddy's DNS, redirects to Stablehost (at http://newdomain.olddomain.com), which the user still sees as http://www.newdomain.com due to Godaddy DNS masking or something.
3. Subdomain newdomain.olddomain.com is stored in olddomain.com/newdomain folder.
4. New install reports CURL errors:
CURL problems detected: 28 => Connection timed out after 11001 milliseconds more info...
CURL requires SSL support. Please notify webmaster or hosting company. 28 => Connection timed out after 11001 milliseconds
Most threads on this suggest contacting the host about enabling CURL or something, but if this is essential to ZC then it is enabled, because my original domain works fine. It seems to me I should be able to run multiple instances of ZC with a single CURL instance?
I am a newbie but I will try to answer any questions. Thanks in advance.
