Just Got Soaked With Shipping Charges

My business is in the US. I used the prepared shipping zones here:

I used two zones. One is the US 50 States & DC and the other is international using the zone definition for the "Rest of the World, excluding the United States". International zone is set to apply $30 shipping charges to any order over $50. US shipping is free.

I had 3 products that were initially $400 selling at 73% off - $109 as I was just looking to make some room and a few bucks to apply towards other projects.

The first two items sold to the UK and the shipping rates were applied properly so that means the $218 order total was $248. Perfect.

The third item is being shipped to Australia and received free shipping! Since the items were originally $400 and on sale for $100, I just sold an item for $109 that will cost me another $45 to ship. I may as well have just thrown the item in the trash for the profit I made on it.

How can I see whether Australia is included in my prepared zone? It looked like the international (rest of the world) code basically states all countries not US. The item was not marked 'always free shipping' as I checked... What did I do wrong?

If you look at your Zone Definitions and click on Rest of the World then on DETAILS ... do you see Australia on the first page?

How many show at the bottom of the list? You should see:

Go to your Zen Cart Admin and in the Configuration ... Shopping/Packaging ... do you have 0 weight means Free Shipping? Try setting this to NO:

Order Free Shipping 0 Weight Status
If there is no weight to the order, does the order have Free Shipping?
0= no
1= yes

Have you edited the shipping modules in any way?

I have not edited the module other than copying it - I did have the zero weight = free shipping set to YES. I just changed that to NO.

Interestingly, I did have only one item listed with a weight and that customer bought two jackets and the other jacket with no weight. So one would have triggered the $30 shipping. That would explain a lot actually....

NOTE: Because your Patch is set to Always Free Shipping and you have the International Zone on FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper that it cannot be sent to the US. You probably do not want that set for any Zone to work correctly and then it will only work for Products marked as Always Free Shipping for both the US and International ...
