How Do I Specify Number of New Items on Secondary Pages?

I know how to specify the number of items that will randomly display on the Index page: Maximum Values > New Products Module.

How do I specify a maximum number of items for subsequent pages? We want a smaller number to display on the secondary pages.

Upcoming Products
Also Purchased Products
Maximum Display of Specials Products - Main Page

Log in to your admin -> Configure -> Index Listing

Select each: Show New, Featured, Special, Upcoming Products on Main Page to display and in what order.
Select each: Show New, Featured, Special, Upcoming Products on Main Page - Category with SubCategories to display and in what order.
Select each: Show New, Featured, Special, Upcoming Products - below Product Listing to display and in what order.

Then select each New, Featured, Special Products Columns per Row - this is where you put the desired amount to be displayed.

I think what is being asked is:

After doing all of that setup, if on the first page (main page) it is shown that there are to be x of y total products, and one is on page 1 of n, then when reaching page 2+, that instead of having the same number of product on page 2+ as on page 1, that the number be in some way controlled.

If that is the case, there is no "default" setting to effect that. It would require some custom coding. There are two sections of code that need touching, or at least two functions that respond based on the total number of objects to display. One is the "page" filter code the other is the number of products portion... Both would need to have adjusted input (or fix the output) based on the desired operation.
