Default product with different sizes option

ok so im setting up a webshop for my mrs who is selling clothes.
obviously each item of clothing has different sizes.

    i can add attributes etc...
but how can i add a size option, but stock quantity per size option...

so size 8 has 20 in stock, size 10 has 13 in stock...
and when a customer ordered a size 8 it removes one from the stock.... but all on the one page like a dropdown choice etc??
i may not know how yet, but i soon will....i hope :)

Stock by Attributes, currently available from https://github.com/mc12345678/Stock_...butes_Combined.
General instructions are available at https://github.com/potteryhouse and the applicable subdirectory for instructions from there.

It is supposed to do this when using either the option type similar to: Basic SBA found in the option names dropdown, or when using multiple attributes and Dynamic dropdowns. There are also several settings in different areas related to showing product quantities.

The answer though is yes. :)

There were a few minor fixes identified this last weekend, unfortunately at the moment I can't recall if they got incorporated into the main thread, but I'll take a look. The fix(es) affected using the above option type's availability. There is a simple sql statement that can address it if it is an issue. The problem that would be seen is that no attributes appear on a product page that are designated with the above option type.

Yeah, looks like between myself and the individual that identified the problem we didn't come back together to say that the issue was resolved. Therefore the fix still needs to be applied.

The following link shows the old and new line numbers to the affected file(s). I suggest doing this before putting too much data in, but it becomes easy to apply.

so if i implement these changes, will i have to re-run the installation?
will it remove all the stuff i have already got set up??

also im using the responsive_classic template now, but its not showing the quantity in stock alongside the options...
but on the classic green template it does show the quantity in stock alongside the options...

    any idea's on this?

It's been a while since I have run the install on a store that had existing product and at the moment I forget if it maintains the existing data table data (I thought it did, but perhaps the settings were reset), but regardless, should always try on a development site/make a backup before taking such action. The export/import of the SBA table is also supposed to be functional allowing such a backup, but that too I haven't touched in over a year if at all.

Otherwise, if you implement the code changes, then as said it is also possible to run a simple sql command to put in place the desired information. There is an issue in the repository that provides specific direction of the action necessary to provide the necessary database info.

As to the differences in template operation, the code in the fileset that is in each applicable "YOUR_TEMPLATE" directory must be placed in each of the template folders in which the functionality is desired. So that would mean it would need to be placed in the *COPY* of the default responsive template (remember, you really want the classic and the new responsive_classic directories to be clean of anything else so that testing and updates are easier...)
