Default Could not instantiate mail function

    Hi

Trying to figure out an email notification problem. When updating a module in admin this is the error message received

ERROR: Failed sending email to: "[email protected]" with subject: "ALERT: Your Admin settings have been changed in your online store." Could not instantiate mail function.

    Email functions that do work:

    Contact form on store front

    tools > send email

email transport method is php. No logs being generated. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Ultimately, this is a PHP config issue. Best and easiest solution would be to use SMTP instead. If you don't know what your SMTP settings should be you could also try sendmail or sendmail -f (assuming you are using a linux based server).

Agreed. Simply use the SMTPAUTH transport method, and provide all your SMTP settings ... all in the Admin->Config->Email Options screen.

Thanks. I tried the smtp settings as given in cpanel email configuration. Some parts of the zen cart email functions worked others did not. I'm putting in a support ticket to have them look at php configuration and suggestions
