Thanks! Talk about Greek...I double checked everything and when that didn't work I changed the password in all places. I now have the test with the errors about patching the database to a higher level and deleting the zc_install file. I just need to complete the install process for that, but now I have a fatal error on the admin screen:
Fatal error: Call to a member function Execute() on a non-object in /home4/fresh1/public_html/zen_new/admin/index_dashboard.php on line 9
but that line in my files matches the line in the original file and I don't know what is supposed to go there.
You say that you need to complete the store setup, but in review of the admin/index.php file that calls index_dashboard.php, presumably the "setup" has already been performed...
Also, the "data" missing is related to the variable $db which is set from the call to admin/index.php which loads the includes/application_top.php file. That file loads the ZC system which includes any files that have been incorrectly placed or modified or whatever has been done to your fileset. It also loads the database and any settings that have been made there.
If you are receiving the notification to update your database, you shouldn't be trying to use/access the database until that has happened. Again... Reference the upgrade by rebuild instructions: http://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3-...d-of-upgrading
No where in there does it suggest nor recommend logging into the system before the database has been updated (other than to provide credentials to perform the actual database upgrade).

I just deleted everything and reinstalled, now everything is perfect :)
