    Default Customer can't edit address

[Note: remember to include site URL, ZC version, list of plugins, PHP version, etc ... read the Posting Tips shown above for information to include in your post here. And, remove this comment before actually posting!]

    Zen Cart 1.5.5

Customers can't edit their address info or add another address. It looks like you are permitted to edit account info and password info. Any ideas?

At what point in the checkout- or account-process was the customer trying to change their address?

Note that if the customer has used PayPal Express Checkout as their payment method during the checkout process, those buttons are de-activated on the checkout-confirmation page.

At any point. I created a new account to test it.

    1. Created the account.
    2. Logged out.
    3. Logged back in.
    4. System lets me change account info and password but not my address.
    5. Can't add a new address either.

Out of the box there's no restriction on editing their own address info. Have you added plugins to change that sort of behavior?

Also, by "can't", do you mean "a big red 'you can't do that' message appears"?
    Or some other symptom?

    - link/button "gone"?
    - clicking the link/button does "something unexpected"? What specifically?
    - lets you type in the desired changes, but saving ... gives an error? What error? ... gives a blank screen? What's recorded in the /logs/ when that happens?

    LOTS more detail needed.

Haven't installed any plugins that should have any impact on the account editing capability. Like I said, it lets you edit other account info and even the password, just not anything to do with the address editing or adding a new address.

There are no error messages, when you press the 'update' button nothing happens. Page doesn't refresh, no messages are displayed. No logs are being posted.

    See, that's critical information.
Sounds like the HTML on the page is invalid, such that the form code isn't terminated properly, therefore the button-click does nothing.
That's typically a result of template-changes, sometimes caused by plugins, sometimes faults in what the template-author changed.

Run the page code through an HTML validator and you'll probably see dozens of things to tweak:
    - right-click on the offending page
    - choose "view page source" (or equivalent, depending on your browser)
    - select-all
    - right-click and choose Copy
    - go to the w3c page validator and paste in your page source
    It'll give you a lotta feedback ;)

    That was it!

It was a problem with the template file - there was an HTML issue where the form was closed before the submit button so the button wasn't inside the form and therefore it had nothing to submit... The file I modified: tpl_modules_address_book_details.php
