Paypal Timed Out

Hi

Have made no changes to site for a couple of months and overnight am getting -

An error occurred when we tried to contact the payment processor. Please try again, select an alternate payment method, or contact the store owner for assistance. () - (28) Operation timed out after 0 milliseconds with 0 out of 0 bytes received

- when customer tries to pay. Any ideas ?

Could this be related to the TLS 1.2 changes paypal are making? They are apparently testing throughout May - I am fairly certain my host is compliant but how can I be sure?

The easiest way to know would be to ask your host.

Quite certain now it is something to do with my host - just getting them to do something about it is the tricky bit .....

There are tests made available in the extras folder that may provide some information about a site/host problem when executed from the server and there are some external sites that can run communication tests with the server.

I had the same problems and same error (on v1.5.5 though), it just started happening early this month. Only changing over to a new and more updated server fixed it.
