Delete/disable 1 Product Attribute from one product only

I'm a novice Zen Cart person

I am sold out of XL size shirt on one product only. I'm looking at the attribute controller page for that particular shirt. All sizes are listed with a unique number for each size. Eg, 2193 for small, 2194 for medium, etc.

Over on the right side of the page are 2 buttons: edit & delete. If I press the delete button for the XL size only, will the XL size only be deleted for this one shirt? I don't want to delete the XL size attribute for all other shirts.

Is there a way to temporarily disable the XL size attribute so I can use it again later for this one shirt. The edit button is beyond my ability to understand. Thanks.

goto the first row of buttons (yellow)
The sizes with an "X" can be selected.
Click the XL Size yellow button to toggle the "X" off
Now that size cannot be selected (it will still display however)
When you want it back click it again so that the "X" is back

Not an ideal solution as it still shows, but cannot be selected
Good for a Q & D solution

There's also software available that can add stock tracking to such partial attributes. Stock By Attributes (available from https://github.com/mc12345678/Stock_...butes_Combined) could be used to do that. As a product/attribute becomes unavailable the selection is either hidden or identified as out-of-stock with possibility of allowing/preventing selection.
