Since noone can log in I am not too worried but this I got from server alerts: (4) OpenSSL was built without SSLv3 support

Thought this deprecated in 2015 or so what do I do now?, ignore it? I am assuming that it is checking on its own since as I said nobody can log in to purchase.

Did you apply the modifications that had been directed to try to allow the system to self-discover the communication method? I used to have the link(s) bookmarked but not any more.

Is the message a debug "error", "warning", or "notice"?

Remember, this is zc139h, where the base Zen Cart's logging was only for errors.

Heavy emphasis on "was"... after this many years and further that this appears to be the same site that doesn't otherwise log anything these days makes it harder to identify what all is going on and/or why...

Yes, it makes things very hard to figure out what it needs done. The error came in an email entitled:
ALERT: PayPal Express Checkout Error ()

Then the (4) OpenSSL was built without SSLv3 support in the body. It looks like it might be server mail which in itself is weird. Nobody can log into the store to access their shopping carts much less buy something.

Since I probably need to upgrade a version at a time, would it be alright to upgrade to 1.5 in case a file got messed up since I have to upload the new files to overwrite the (or remove) ones on the server?

I sis find some 1.5.4 files in there too which I sure don't remember uploading so the host may have done that when they were "helping".
