Remove Shipping Estimator

Please could you tell me how to remove the Shipping Estimator.

I thought it was removed by selecting Configutation / Shipping/Packaging / Shipping Estimator Display Settings = 0
... but its isnt removing mine.

try setting it to 2.

Setting it to 2 has no effect ie. keeps every the same.

Setting it to 1 removes all shipping options ie. the box I marked and the box below.

Could be your template doesn't respect the setting SHOW_SHIPPING_ESTIMATOR_BUTTON.

Compare

includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/shipping_estimator.php
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php

to the default copies. You can even test this quickly just by renaming these files with the suffix ".bak" to see what the effect of reverting to the default files would be.

I think I know whats causing it.

Its a newly downloaded zen cart .... except I moved the Big Royal mail shipping modules across from my v1.5.4 zencart.

This must be having an effect.

Have just realised that Big Royal mail is being maintained, so with try again with latest code.

By putting 1 in the admin ... I get the shipping estimator button ... but clicking on the button shows both shipping estimator boxes.

I cant have my Big Royal mail without having the default Shipping estimator box as well.

There are no difference between 2) ie a new v157 download and my website code

I cant find file 1) in the new download

Using responsive_classic template

In a fresh download of 1.5.7c, with the Responsive Classic template, when I set the Admin > Configuration > Shipping > Shipping Estimator Display Settings for Shopping Cart to 0, there is no shipping estimator on the shopping cart page. ZERO is the value that turns it off, not 1 or 2.

I found shipping_estimator.php in includes/modules and compared those 2 files. No differences.

Big Royal mail ... I copied across 2 files for 1st class post into includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/rm1stpacket.php
and includes/modules/shipping/rm1stpacket.php

(also copied 3 other different tipes of uk postage0

Were they supposed to go inside my template file structure ?

Renaming includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/shipping_estimator.php
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_shopping_cart_default.php
.bak has worked.

Very good.
If there are changes you did wish to preserve, just compare the changed files to the original, and slowly re-introduce the changes you wish.
