Default Are there issues with setting up square PHP Version 8.2.4

I am in the process of working on an upgrade and installed zen 1.5.8a on PHP Version 8.2.4.

It appears that my square credentials installed ok but for some reason I am not able to enter anything into the the credit card fields as shown in image.

My guess was that the php version is not the right one for square? Not sure.

    Any insight is much appreciated.

Couple of things. It appears you are using the older version of Square - that stopped working last year. It has been replaced by Square webPay which is in the plugins section BUT is only compatible with PHP 7.4 to 8.0

    Plugin - https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=2345
    Docs - https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/payment/square/

So new 1.5.8a installs will install an older square version?
How did you see the version of square?

I was just setting up the included module after the latest 1.5.8a installation.

Simsn1066's advice was the key to dilemma. I felt that the square module from the new install would work as is and it definitely won't.

Therefore I installed Square Webpay. Alongside one page checkout, it seems to work great!

Thank you Simon1066 and lat9 for nice work!

All credit for the 'nice work' should really go to the author of the webPay plugin, @carlwhat

Hi, I installed this for a customer in 2 of his stores. One works fine but the other one doesn't work after entering the numbers. It doesn't do anything, so for that doesn't generate any errors.

Is there a possibility that the module doesn't work on a subdomain? This is the only reason I can think of for the module not to work.

    ZC v1.5.7d
    PHP: 7.4

The main store works fine, on subdomain doesn't and even being a subdomain, that stores has its own domain.

i see no reason why a subdomain would not work.

when you say it doesn't do anything, can you be more specific? does it come up on the admin?

if it is not coming up on the payment page, and you have no error logs, what is on the console for the developer tools on the browser that you are using?

hard to trouble shoot without more information.
