How to display more that two categories per row

When the categories are displayed by default I get two categories per row. I tried changing the categories per row in the configuration but I only get 2 categories per row. I am using the Responsive Template. Does anyone know how to get more that two categories per row.

Part of the arrangement of information on screen is resolution based and designed to have minimum distance between certain/known objects. There are many reasons for such distancing where some of which is to support meeting various accessibility considerations and plain readability. Note that the default install is set to 3 categories per row.

The solution you seek may be in the css for the page or you may need to zoom out from the page, etc. Understand though your customer may have different screen settings causing a different quantity per row to be displayed (though no more per row than configured).

You can set the amount of categories per row in the admin -> configuration -> max values

That configuration is overridden and doesn't work.

Just set from 3 to 4 at vanilla installation:

It works as long you are not overriding it.

With "Responsive Template" you mean responsive_classic?

It doesn't work. I posted a case a week ago asking why it doesn't work in the responsive template and I was told it is overridden in the code somewhere so that it would work for various screen sizes. It still doesn't work. If you have a resolution to enable more than 3 I would like to hear it.

I have a new, fresh install of 1.5.8a with RESPONSIVE_CLASSIC template enabled - and am able to change the Categories To List Per Row setting without any problems.

You are correct. I was given incorrect information from a previous post. I am using a previous copy of the responsive template which does not work.
