    Default Capturing a customer's email

I'll be the first to say I don't enjoy sites where a popup begs you to register and then you receive a discount or something, however apparently there's tons of people who respond and subscribe. It's been recommended by our marketing folks to implement something like this, I did a quick search but didn't see any solutions.

Once again, I hate stuff like this, but what are people using?

If you want to send a coupon to all who register, you can use https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/order_total/coupons/ to create a blanket coupon good for years that can only be used once by a customer. You can edit your welcome email and your login page to reflect the fact that registered customers get the coupon.

It might be a little more complicated to add it to only the newsletter subscribers but i'm sure it could be done with basically the same edits but with the email_template_newsletters.html by duplicating the $EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML as $EMAIL_MESSAGE_NEWSLETTER_HTML and using it in the newsletter template to mention the coupon.

Thanks; I like the persistent coupon idea.
