I am getting this error message:

This is what is on line 11 to 13:
change

'DOB_FORMAT_STRING' => 'dd/mm/yyyy', // from 'DOB_FORMAT_STRING' => 'mm/dd/yyyy',

What do I need to change in the lang.english.php change the DOB_FORMAT_STING from mm/dd/yyyy to dd/mm/yyyy because we are Australian date format.

Just don't want to stuff it up by making changes and cause more problems.

It is complaining about the content of the language file. Check you have quotes around DOB_FORMAT_STRING and a comma on the end of the previous line.
I would restore the distribution file then see https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/local...g_date_format/ for how to change date format.
