Can't Change Template To Anything But Responsive Classic or Classic Contemporary

I just created the new website www.candyland-sweets.com, and the zencart url is www.candyland-sweets.com/index.php. I'm trying to change the template away from Responsive Classic or Classic Contemporary Green, ideally to something with a pastel pink or pastel teal theme because it's for a candy store. I've tried seven different templates that have worked on other sites I've built, but not one of them will work on this site. The moment I change the template, the index.php page goes totally blank.

Simple Blue Responsive
Responsive All Business Template
Alysa Rounded
Carlisle Fresh Template
Bristol Lace
Responsive Apparel Boutique Template
and one I simply saved to my hard drive as "lavender" several years ago.

Some of them require SQL patches to be installed, and I've done that per the instructions on each one, but it's not helping.

It's been a while since I've designed a new site, and ZenCart has gone through a couple of different revisions. But those templates should still work...even though they've been removed from the picaflor-azul.com site, they're still downloadable from this forum. So why can't I get ANY of them to work??

Totally baffled here, and I really could use some help!

They're downloadable, but they're just a reference or a starting point. Any of these would need a ton of work to get them to work with PHP8.

The recommended templates are responsive_classic or bootstrap unless you're working with a developer.

Also, since your concern seems to be around template colors, note that the Bootstrap template allows you to change these colors from your admin panel.
