Thanks again Diva. I just finished an email to my client and broached the subject of an upgrade to 1.5 to fix this issue and get a handle on what mods are installed (she doesn't know). There's been quite a few cooks stirring the soup here.

Hi All,
Been using this mod for a while now and havent really found any issues apart from what im about to describe.
I have bee having issues with my website returning an error on validation, stating the following
The character encoding specified in the HTTP header (utf-8) is different from the value in the <meta> element (iso-8859-1)
Looking through my scripts i can see that the Zencart setup is set to iso-8859-1 however the wordpress install and this mod uses utf-8. Some how it seems as thought his mod has over ridden the standard zencart characterset. Is this possible?
Also having issues through google webmast tools with the following
HTTP/1.1 500 Internal Server ErrorDate: Mon, 27 Aug 2012 21:18:06 GMTServer: Apache/2.0.64 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.0.64 OpenSSL/0.9.8e-fips-rhel5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635Expires: Thu, 19 Nov 1981 08:52:00 GMTCache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0Pragma: no-cacheX-Pingback: http://www.flowersbypostdirect.co.uk...tent-Encoding: gzipVary: Accept-EncodingSet-Cookie: zenid=886f0eb30b0607cf2762a59710a3f9f6; path=/; domain=.www.flowersbypostdirect.co.uk; HttpOnlyConnection: closeTransfer-Encoding: chunkedContent-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8This is while trying to 'fetch as googlebot' through google webmaster tools. It looks like the wordpress install is again over riding the standard zencart files and also setting the charset to utf-8
Is there an easy way around this?
Regards
Paul

Change zen cart to utf-8, it should be anyway and if you get customers with non-standard-English characters like é, ä, ø etc you won't come across like an amateur when it throws weird characters instead. Numinix's site shows how to do this and I think there is a script in the fee downloads here from A Berezin that converts your db to utf-8. Definitely should do it regardless to polish your site to customers. Little things like them being able to spell their name correctly on your site go a long way towards professionalism, even if they never notice it they also will not notice that their name or address is full of strange characters....
This aside from whether or not to use this mod the way it is. Personally, I never had a problem making it work, I had to do some tweaking which I can't remember now since it's been so long but I decided a blog was more effort that it was worth for my particular application so I removed it and haven't thought of it since until I happened to be curious enough to see where this discussion currently is. Pity it's not a straightforward mod, but it sounds like Numinix's solution works. I use many of Jeff's mods, both free and commercial, and can attest to his thorough zen cart expertise.
Just wondering if you will ever do a version of Wordpress on Zen Cart for 1.3.9 and higher. I have 1.3.9, and cannot install the 1.3.8. I also do not like the alternatives I have seen out there, including one that puts my Zen Cart in my Wordpress blog. I do not want this, I like what you have been doing better.
I haven't been able to install WOZ on my zen cart. I have 1.3.9h, and when I click on TOOLS, I don't see the Wordpress on Zen Cart option to click on.
good luck getting the developers attention. this mod is pretty much dead.![]()
