Yes, it's possible.
I posted a couple approaches to this a couple months back.
Essentially, you would need to intercept the order process to go out and grab/generate a valid license key, and inject that info into the order details... and then of course store the fact that the particular license key has already been issued so that it's not re-issued to anyone..
