The language pack is in the downloads area under language packs. Look for the link at the top of this page.
They (for there are two for Spanish) appear to be completely up-to-date.

There are 2 Spanish packs. One seems to be an attempt to improve upon the other. I disagree that they are complete. While I greatly appreciate the fact that the Spanish pack is so far along, it is far from complete. I had to make a great many changes to it before I could use it.
How Can I translate it, I know I can Do it Better and put it so everyone can have it??
That would be wonderful Paffum. Go to the downloads link at the top of your page. Then click on Language Packs. Click Next to go to the second page. There are 2 Spanish packs. I downloaded the first one, Spanish Language Pack (Spain). I think that this is an updated form of the other one, and I prefer Spain Spanish to informal Columbian Spanish. Another advantage to this one is that it does not include the admin files, but only the store front files. You might prefer to do the admin files as well, but I am quite happy to do the admin in English. Basically, all included files are Spanish translations of the English material. You can translate any and all of that. Much of it is done already in this language pack. However, 1) this pack is obviously geared toward this person's own company, and all references to it should obviously be deleted for more generic material, and 2) not all of it is translated. I made a very large number of changes myself to make it workable. I would contribute my changes, but I am not a native speaker and would not want people to use my material thinking that it is perfect. If you want to make changes, I am all for it and I will incorporate your changes. Meanwhile, I do not know if there is a formal group that authorizes the submission of language pack updates. Thanks for any effort and let me know if I can help.
There is no formal group approving language pack updates. They're simply given a basic check by the Zen Cart team (none of whom to my knowledge have more than a smattering of Spanish) and then approved for community use, making feedback such as in the post immediately above, very useful for non-native speakers.

Bump!
When installing the Spanish (Spain) language pack, I get this in admin area:
MISSING LANGUAGE FILES OR DIRECTORIES ... Spanish Spanish
Seems to work fine on the public site though... anyone else run into this problem?

Some documentation with these language packs would be nice... it's not like everyone installing them knows the languages.
Just my two cents.

I did not have this problem, I seem to recall, because there are no admin files for Spanish. I think that the easiest fix is to copy the admin folder for English, and to rename it Spanish. That way you will get English whether you select English or Spanish for admin. Either way, there are no Spanish files, so you cannot do admin in Spanish in the present form. You mentioned that you do not understand Spanish. Then you better beware, because you cannot use the Spanish language pack without customization. Although documentation would be nice, I believe that these are volunteer creations, and therefore documentation cannot always be expected.
I was not trying to change the admin language - just to get the Spanish language pack working on the site. As soon as I installed it, that message appeared in my Admin area.

I got that same error... being the first pack I'm installing, I'm not sure if I'm missing something else during install or what...
