HELP, USPS module stopped working, any ideas, anything to do with announced change?

Hi, just received some messages from customers saying they cannot complete the checkout process because it won't go past the shipping page.

The first thing that came to my mind was it had something to do with the USPS module and sure enough, that's the cause. If I turn it off, everything works fine. But if I turn it on again, it won't display anything, just 'the page cannot be displayed error'

Anyone else has this problem? Any ideas what could be causing this? Did USPS implemented their announced change sooner than expected?

Do you have an URL that we can peek at?

Are you using a 5 digit or 5+ Zip Code?

Did it ever work?

What version of Zen Cart are you using?

Yes, it always worked from the beginning. I have been using it for about a year now.
It just stopped working all of a sudden, not sure if today or yesterday, I wasn't aware of it until a few customers contacted me. The last order I received was yesterday, so anytime between then and now it stopped working.

Don't know if the USPS changed something. Remember the other time when they changed wording for some international services without notice and they weren't showing up.

I have just turned it off for now, because have several customers trying to place orders and I don't want to lose anymore sales. I'm using the Table Rate module until I figure out what's wrong with the USPS one.

What version of Zen Cart are you running?

Hi, sorry, I though I had answered all questions. I was just in such a hurry, trying to fix it.

I'm still using 1.2.6 and I use a 5 digit ZIP code.

I just installed 1.3 right now for testing and it worked just fine on it. So I went back to my regular store and reenabled the USPS module and it is working now, what a relief. :)

Do you think the production server might have been down for a while and that was the cause?

that is usually the case,
If it was working and then it just stops,

either their server died, changed or your host changed something

Ok, I seem to be having the same issue. Started a few days back while the forums were down. I just reenabled the module and am still getting the error on checkout.
I'm on 1.2.7
I have never used this module until I tried a few days ago.

Now the USPS tech support guy stated that they do not need a password in the config for this , is that correct? I mean, why would it be there if it was not needed?

Can anyone lend a thought on this that has this working correctly?

Have you contacted USPS and made sure that they switched your account ( that you created ) to the production server?

LOL...uh, the guy swore that there was only a proction server and nothing else.
(Smell of fishy in the air)

I'l try again and see if I can get a grown up this time.
