    Hello,

I'm brand new here, a matter of fact this is my first post. Thank you for your post, but I'm using version 1.3.5 and I don't see a Options Manager option anywhere?

I don't know what version you wrote those instuctions for, but I could use a little help please.
    Thank you,
    John

Hi John and welcome to the best shopping cart you'll ever find!!

Option values and option names are for the Attributes. In v 1.35 in Admin, go to the catalog dropdown and you will see the option name and option value managers.

help question Re: Upload digital products

I'm trying to add digital product for the first time and I'm having problems.

I created the option: download (radio button), then value: pdf

I made my item entry, the when I went into attributes I selected 'download, then pdf'. I then scrolled down and entered the path of my download product and when I hit insert, I get this error:

Attribute Option and Option Value Do NOT Match - Attribute was not added - : TEXT

What does that mean exactly? What do I need to do?

The Option Name should have the Option Type set to either Dropdown or Radiobutton ...

Then, you need to add Option Value(s) for the Download ...

Next, when adding the Download Attribute you should FTP the file to the /download directory and put in the filename of the Download ...

If you get an error on the match of the Option Name and Option Value, then you do not have these configured correctly ...

I guess I'm a visual person, it seems you just paraphrased my problem, but I'm not understanding your solution. Could you possibly type an example out?

Here's another question I have that might be my problem.... Is the 'value' the actual pdf name? Is that why it's not matching? Because my file is already in the correct folder, it was uploaded before I made my attributes.

    help question Download products

Can anybody help please, I have uploaded my pdf files to the download directory and have set the attributes and so on and have the green dot showing, I can go to my web site and log in, pay for the download and the button appears in My Account? but when I click on it an error message comes up saying basically the file could not be found, I have checked and checked and the file is definitely there, I can download it from the cpanel for my hosting package but not using Zen Cart. I have contacted the hosting company about the symbolic link between the download and pub directory, but they did not have a clue what I was on about. Do you?
    Please help

Hi, I am also a newbie to zencart.

I need a cart that can handle multiple downloads. but my need is not as straight forward as the above examples.

I will be providing backing tracks as mp3 downloads.
A track will be a product.
each product will have the following options
    Option name: Key
    option values: female hi
    female lo
    male hi
    male lo

    Option name: Backing Vocals
    option values: with
    without

    Option name: Lead Instrument
    option values: with
    without

As you can see this will create a combination of 16 different files. eg
    songname_fh_bv_li.mp3
    songname_fh_bv.mp3
    songname_fh.mp3
    songname_fl_bv_li.mp3
    and so on...

fh=female hi, bv = backing vocals, li = lead instrument.

Do you know if zencart can acheive this?
I've had a good play with it but as far as I can see zencart only assigns 1 download file per option attribute.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Al

You would need to really do quite a bit of customization as it sounds like you are trying to build a filename from the choices ...

Zen Cart currently has an Attribute set to hold 1 download where the filename is assigned to that Attribute ...

You might try posting in the Commercial Help Wanted to see about building something like this ...

Otherwise, you would need to create an attribute for each possible filename for the customer to choose from ...
