How can I adjust the Cart inactivity timer?

    Hi All!
I have been working on 'issues' all day and kept the 'who's online' open and it's pretty fun to watch the customers come and go.

    However...............

One thing I did notice was that we had a few people who came into the site, added some stuff to their carts, had not created accounts (yet), stayed on the site and eventually their carts emptied. Maybe someone at work surfing and got caught, not sure, but my question is:

Is it possible to change the Cart inactivity timer to more than the 540 seconds?

    Thanks and LOVE the forum!

    Rod

540 seconds? I think you need to talk to your host ... the average is 24 minutes, 1440 seconds.
Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

Be careful with unsolicited advice via email or PM - Make sure the person you are talking to is a reliable source.

    Kim,
Well on the 'Who's Online' page just under the REFRESH LIST link is this:

Inactive is Last Click >= 180s || Inactive since arrival > 540s will be removed

Correct me if I an wrong, but isn't this 540 seconds or 9 minutes? Also I would like to make it 60 minites if possible.

    Thanks,

    Rod

The whos_online can get pretty full so when the customer has not done anything for a long period of time they get cleaned out so you can see active cutomers easier ...

The time was reduced to 9 minutes vs the standard 24 minutes that the actual session is active ...

    Kim,
What would determine the setting for the timer with the host? I guess I need to know what I would need to ask them as I have never ran across this type of issue before.

    Thanks,
    Rod

Found it, THANKS!! I guess I can understand the reason for the time reduction, but I would like it to last a bit longer so we can possibly 'read' how our customers are using the site and hope for more orders.

Thanks again, WHAT A TEAM WE HAVE HELPING US HERE!!!

    Merlin,
Is that feature in 1.2.7? I looked in the admin and can't seem to locate it. Thanks for the suggestion!!
