    Default Catagories description loses formatting.

    I have just started setting up my store with version 1.3.9a. No addons have been added yet but i'm using a modified version of the "free yellow" CSS template.

    I have a reasonably long 'story' that i want as my category description. as it quite long i want to space out a bit with blank lines. But all the whitepace i add are lost. It just shows up as a single block of text. It displays fine in the product description just no in the catagory description.
    How do i get the formatting to stay?

    Matty,
    I am not understanding this "I want to space out a bit with blank lines..

    Please explain more in detail.

    The reason for a short description with the .... after the wording and the more info on the side is that you have used attributes associated with your product, which your customer needs to read to be able to purchase your product.

    You could edit the stylesheet.css and make it easier to read by adding this declaration..

    Find this:

    #navCategoryIcon, .buttonRow, #indexProductListCatDescription {margin:0.5em;
    text-align:justify;

    1. notice the highlighted red font just add this

    Thanks Hare Do for your reply.

    I'm talking about the big lump of text at the top of the page, not the individual product descriptions with the '...'s.
    This is the page i originally linked to http://www.outofthetree.com.au/store...=index&cPath=1
    This is how i want the text to be displayed on the previous page (it displays correct in the product description but not at the top of a catagory) http://www.outofthetree.com.au/store...&products_id=1

    Is this a CSS setting?

    Cheers

    You could be editing your categories description in pure text not in html so it displays as a big block of text.

    This is the only thing I can think off.

    Thanks. I'm using the Admin control panel to change the text. There's not setting i can find for plain text vs HTML.

    When you're in the Category view, before you click 'New Product', in the upper right-hand corner, you have a dropdown 'Text Editor' to select Plain Text or the HTML editor.

    Fantasitc! Thanks Steve! didn't notice that. I was looking for something like that on the page where the actual editor appears.
