Default Re: Free Template "Future Zen"

    Sorry,
    Found another one.
I am trying to add user tracking modules.
    The final stage says"
add the following to the end of /includes/templates/ YOUR TEMPLATE /common/tpl_footer.php

    <?php if (ZEN_CONFIG_USER_TRACKING == 'true') { zen_update_user_tracking(); } ?>

Future zen does not seem to have this file structure.
Is there anywhere else i can add this line. I assume others have added it
    Thanks

add the common folder to includes/templates/future_zen/

    Then copy tpl_footer.php
    from includes/templates/template_default/common

and paste it into your newly created folder
    includes/templates/future_zen/common/tpl_footer.php

edit this file and then upload it to your server.

    Hi max44

The answer to your earlier question about the login box is that he probably installed the login box add-in.

I wanted also to alert you that the questions your asking are all about Zen Cart in general and not this template specifically. Even though the answers will often result in a template over-ride, you would do exactly the same whatever template you were using, merely using a different template folder name.

I'm pointing this out since its a common new user mistake, and it may be misdirecting how you search for answers to your questions. Hope this helps.

Sorry about that. It's just the structure of the future zen seems different to the standard template file structure. I asked here incase others had tried the same thing.
I couldnt get the user tracking working.... Point taken though.

On the contrary. Future Zen was the first template to be built for Zen Cart that made full use of the standard template structure and capabilities of the 1.3 series.

It was deliberately designed as a lightweight template that demonstrated how a template should be built to take full advantage of what could now be done, and in particular how a completely different look could be achieved with just a change of stylesheet and a handful of images. The original version took just 2 hours to put together, most of which was spend preparing the images.

Most of the templates that followed have also adopted this lightweight approach, though unfortunately there are still some that have been built in the older bloated fashion, including files changed unnecessarily (or even not changed at all) that block new features introduced into later versions of Zen Cart.

And then there are the commercial templates available from the large companies, but it's best not to get me started on that ... let's just say, don't use them as your benchmark!

    I stand corrected.
I brought a soap box with me you can talk about the commercial bloated templates. How else can we learn. :)

I will remove the user tracking. Its not working for me anyway. I followed things exactly but there must be something in mysite that stops it.
Most of these patches are easy to do, but combine with others they dont always work.
    Thanks for a great template
Your home page is very good also

Most of it's already been said ... at length.
