    Default Sub Zone Shipping

I'm a bit lost as everything is new here, hope the downloads will be back soon.

I hope when it will be back it will be in separte categores for 1.3 and older versions.

I am looking for a UK shipping module where Scotland has a different shipping rate, how do I set it, same with US where Alaska and Hawaii have different shipping rates.

How does one break the coutries into States or Cities with different shipping rates, would like to create the same for more countries too.
Zencart does not provide a break up of states for all countries, what do we do for those where one has to manually enter the state.

Can anybody please guide me which shipping module could help.

I believe v1.3.0.1 has a built in zone rates module.

This allows you to assign shipping rates in a variety of ways.

Yes we can create as many zones we want.
But how do we define a particular city or state as a different zone in the same country ?

    Go to Zone Definitions>
Click insert> Fill in the details and click Insert.
Click details, click insert and add the country; all zones will be the default. Click insert.
Click Details again and then select the state.

    Not exactly intuitive!

I've no idea how you go about adding cities in a way that makes sense; I'm currently struggling with needing a zone with a few postcodes because I don't know enough php to write the code that checks that the data in my new zone meets the requirements!

Suppose I want a different shipping rate for a US country state Alaska (AK)
USA(US) is set in Zone 1,
I put "AK" in zone 2, Alaska is already defined as AK in "Zones"
But the shipping estimator still gives the same estimate for any other state of US and AK.
Can anybody let me now where am I wrong.

I think Zones currently only works with countries. It uses the ISO two letter codes, the same ones used in web addressing for countries. AK is not in the ISO country list, but a lot of USA state codes are like CA. To ZenCart CA means Cananda, not California.

If ZenCart allowed a second level zoning, by state, city or zip, you would be in business, but the zones are flat and not hierarchical. This means you can charge 3 different rates of shipping for three groups of countries in the Zone Module.

As thie "Shipping Estimator" allows us to choose states, there must be some way to use those ??

Is the Multi Geo Shipping Module an answer to my query.
Is the available version compatable with Zen V 1.3 ?

Yes Multi Geo Shipping Mod is the answer.
It works fine with V 1.3, only one test was done by me.
